I am true and rare native Floridian — with a twist of Chinese-Jamaican parents. I went to school in Central Florida for most of my elementary years and moved to Canada and Jamaica for brief stints. We finally settled down in Palm Bay for my high school years and graduated a proud Pirate back in ‘88.

I decided to go to UCF since it was far enough away from my parents and my sister was already there. Easy decision. Back then it sure was different choosing your college. I was supposed to go into teaching, but ended up in Graphic Design after realizing I couldn’t survive on the non-paid internship. It is at UCF in the Wellness Center, I met my husband. We’ve been together for twenty-seven years!

We live in Oviedo with our three kids (well, two now, as one has moved away to college) and four cats. We love our community and Florida – and take full advantage of the outdoor/ocean lifestyle. We enjoy surfing as a family, outings on our boat and spend many hours on the soccer field.

I have slowly grown out of doing design work — only due to the fact that we became so busy we had to have more management and hired new designers. I do love management and working with clients… I admit I am more business minded than artsy, so it works well!

Likes: A quiet and clean house, kind and efficient people, good food and traveling anywhere.

Describe your perfect date. Sushi Pop with a glass of Pinot Noir OR Senor Tequila’s with a large Margarita (they make the best) OR downtown at Ceviche Tapas with a pitcher of sangria. Maybe a movie after at the theater or at home. Simple.

What was/is the name of your best imaginary friend? I wasn’t that creative back then to have an imaginary friend.

What fictional character would you vote for President? Katniss

Obscure talent/superpower you wish you had? To only require 3 hours of sleep per night.

Favorite non-electronic accessory? Swiss army knife on my keychain.

If you didn’t work in the design industry, what would you be doing? Teaching or taking care of sweet babies.
